Consulting & Advocacy

Whether your child has been diagnosed with a disability/learning difference or is struggling in school, ensure their success by securing the needed supports and services.  Your child may already have a 504 plan or an IEP in place or you may be in the beginning stages of the evaluation process. Have questions?  We are here to help.

Why hire an advocate?

Advocates help guide and support parents of children with disabilities or learning differences through the educational system. As advocates, we attend ARDs, 504, and/or IAT meetings with parents since the process can be overwhelming and difficult at times. Our goal is to secure appropriate services so your child can be successful in school. Each student has different needs and we ensure they are considered during the educational planning process whether that is in special education or general education.

Dyslexia & Reading Tutoring

We use an Orton-Gillingham program with struggling readers or students who have Dyslexia. We also work with students who lack confidence in their reading skills or may need some targeted intensive interventions. Our tutors are certified teachers who are trained in Dyslexia intervention. We offer both virtual and in person sessions in our Houston Heights office.

Professional Development/Information Sessions

Our professional development services include customized training to meet the needs of the school. We work with both public and private schools and offer a variety of topics including Student Mental Health: Appropriate Supports in School, Setting the Stage for a Successful ARD Meeting, Parent and School Collaboration, Implementing IEPs and 504 Plans Appropriately, Differentiated Instruction, Universal Design for Learning.

We also offer information sessions and trainings for parents and organizations. We believe in empowering families so that they can best advocate and support the needs of their children.

Exploring School Options?

Are you concerned with the upcoming school year?

We understand that traditional schools may not the best choice for all families. We can help you come up with a plan to meet the needs of your child whether this is exploring private school, charter schools or home school.

“Having an advocate at the ARD table made a huge difference.”

Our goal during advocacy is to ensure that your questions, concerns, and input is being heard by school staff.
Parents are key part of the decision making process. We strive to ensure that your child has the appropriate plan and accommodations in place to be successful.

“I have seen an increase in confidence when my child reads."

“My child loves tutoring!

Our tutors are certified teachers with training in dyslexia. We use an Orton Gillingham program and tailor each lesson to meet the needs of the student. We focus on building their confidence while making learning fun. We see students who are identified with dyslexia as well as students who are struggling and need one to one support.
